HAVE A QUESTION? WE HAVE SOME ANSWERS.

What is a Chiropractor

Doctors of Chiropractic, called ‘chiropractors’ are spine, muscle, joint & nervous system experts

Chiropractors are trained to evaluate, diagnose, recommend & deliver a treatment plan that manages issues within these systems, according to your preferences.

Chiropractors use the best available evidence and clinical expertise to diagnose issues that affect your body’s movement. They treat them without medication or surgery and prevent them from returning

What is Chiropractic care

Chiropractic care is a patient-centered, non-invasive, hands-on, regulated health care professional focus on your spine, muscles, joints & nervous system

To provide appropriate care, a treatment plan is based on the best available evidence, combined with clinical expertise. The chiropractor works with you to determine the best treatment to relieve your pain. They will also help prevent it from returning and restore your mobility.

Chiropractic care can also promote health and improve your quality of life, as well as alleviate pain.

What can Chiropractors Treat?

Some of the conditions that chiropractors treat include:

  • Back pain/discomfort
  • Neck pain/discomfort
  • Extremity pain/discomfort o Muscular strains
  • Ligament sprains
  • Pain associated with arthritis
  • Pre & Post-partum care
  • Pediatric care (stay tuned for more!)
What happens during a chiropractic visit?

On your first visit, the chiropractor will take you through a thorough history to learn more about you and any of the discomforts you may be experiencing.

Following this, and with your permission, and hands-on physical examine will be performed to get a better idea of what may be causing your discomfort. The chiropractor will also discuss with you if they feel as though further imaging is required.

Using the information received from the intake forms, the history, and the physical exam, the chiropractor will provide an appropriate diagnosis and educate you on the condition

From there, the chiropractor will recommend a treatment plan, provide you with alternatives and obtain consent for treatment.

They will also complete and review any of the necessary paperwork with you.

What is Manupulation Therapy

One of the most frequent treatments a chiropractor uses is manual manipulation of the vertebrae of your spine and other joints, which is called an ‘adjustment’

To perform an adjustment, the chiropractor will apply a high velocity, low amplitude thrust to your joint and guide it through a range of motion. This action restores your joint’s natural movement and improves function.

An audible popping/cracking noise is often associated with an adjustment, and it is produced when opposing joint surfaces sperate rapidly, releasing pressure and creating subsequent gas cavities, similar to how when you open a can of something fizzy, you hear a popping noise!
